Leather preparation & finisher
With our treatment products, you can use leather preparation & finisher to perfect the leather items you paint or dye. The preparation ensures that the leather paint layer adheres well to the leather and the finisher gives the product a shiny coat and an extra layer of protection. This contributes to a more durable end product. Do take into account the type of leather that you are going to treat, since suede, for example, has different properties in comparison to smooth leather.
Leather treatment
Keep in mind that the suitable leather treatment varies with the type of leather being treated. Do you want to apply a finisher after painting the leather with Angelus leather paint? Make sure that the last applied layer of paint has had at least 24 hours to dry. For an optimal leather treatment, you can also choose a finisher with a gloss layer, which can be easily applied with our Application Pads.
Leather preparation
Before you start dyeing or painting a leather product, leather preparation is strongly recommended. The Angelus Preparer and Deglazer is suited for cleaning leather before colouring it. Preparing the leather in this way has several important advantages. Primarily, it ensures that the leather is free from grease and that any residual paint is removed. The result is that the paint adheres better to the leather product and therefore stays in place. However, this product is not suitable for suede and artificial leather. If you have a product made of these materials, you can pre-treat the leather with the Angelus Easy Cleaner.
Leather finisher
To enjoy a dyed leather product as long as possible, we advise a leather finisher treatment. This ensures that the new colour stays as long as possible and protects the paint layer of the leather against damage such as scratches and scrapes. Also, the finisher treatment provides an extra protective layer that is water-resistant and shiny, with options ranging from matte to high gloss. Would you rather not have a glossy top layer? Then the Angelus Water and Stain Repellent is a perfect alternative!
